Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the BoardGerry is currently CEO of the LEDP and holds a number of other board positions. Prior to the LEDP Gerry worked in senior executive roles across the Medical device, Telecoms, PC and Energy Industries with companies such as Bord Na Mona (COO), DJO Global (COO), Stryker (VP Ireland), Apple, Nortel and AST/Samsung. Gerry initially qualified as a Toolmaker with Mincon and studied Industrial Engineering. He also holds a Masters Degree in change management through Trinity College Dublin. He has had a number of his own companies and has also studied for a small period of time at Harvard University.
As CEO Pat’s responsibilities include working with the management team to set direction for the company, development of the commercialization strategy and engagement with third party business development, sales and marketing executives to execute commercial objectives, contract negotiations, legal, fund raising and investor relations.
Previously, Pat worked in Operations, Vendor Management, Multi Site Program & Functional Management, Product Development and Business Development in medical device companies such as Boston Scientific, Stryker, Sherwood Medical and ABK Biomedical where he was CEO prior to co-founding OrthoXel.
Charles is responsible for OrthoXel’s Technology development program. He leads the technical team, setting direction for new product development and product portfolio expansion in line with company commercial objectives. He coordinates the on-going clinical use of OrthoXel’s regulatory approved products and engages with surgeons on new technology development opportunities.
Charles has extensive engineering experience in the medical device industry and has worked in R&D, Product and Process development, New Product Introduction and Operations in program and functional management positions for companies such as De Puy, Boston Scientific, Cochlear and ABK Biomedical where he worked as product Development Manager

Non Executive DirectorAidan has spent the last twenty five years in the technology sector both in an executive and consultancy role. In 2012 he was one of the founders of the Irrus Investments Syndicate Group who have gone on to make several investments in the Life Sciences and Technology sectors. He has spent the last number of years working as an independent consultant working with companies in setting and implementing their strategic direction in the area of sales, marketing, finance and strategic management. His experience includes financial controller at Intepro Systems -transforming an engineering-led company into the world’s number one supplier of power supply AT instrumentation, software and turnkey systems. In 1991 he successfully negotiated the sale of the organisation to Shaffner, giving the VC investors a return in excess of 12% per annum. He spent 4 years with Avocent International as VP Sales EMEA from 1999 to 2002 where he expanded and grew the sales organisation to $35m annual turnover.
Professor James Harty, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, began his involvement with the team having seen first hand the current challenges in tibial nailing. His contributions have included co-authoring the body of peer-reviewed literature on the background technology and carrying out the cadaver and preclinical surgical procedures.
James has been a practicing orthopaedic surgeon for over 17 years and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. James currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at Cork University Hospital and on the faculty of the Department of Surgery in University College Cork. James has also served on the board of the Irish Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery (IITOS).
